This agency works exclusively with law firms.
How we score →Speakeasy Authority Marketing is a digital marketing agency exclusively serving attorneys and law firms. They have helped over 850 attorneys across 17+ practice areas build online authority through their proprietary Authority Marketing System. Specializing in content-driven strategies, they help solo attorneys, boutique firms, and mid-size practices attract higher-value clients, command premium fees, and grow their practices with clarity and consistency.
Speakeasy Authority Marketing takes a different angle than most agencies in this directory: rather than leading with SEO or PPC as the primary product, it centers its offering on positioning individual attorneys as recognized authorities in their practice area. The agency says it has worked with more than 850 attorneys across 17-plus practice areas, and its signature product is a proprietary Authority Marketing System that turns an attorney’s actual expertise and case history into content — articles, social posts, video, and in some cases a published book — under that attorney’s own byline and voice.
The process starts with quarterly “insight interviews” — structured conversations where Speakeasy’s team draws out an attorney’s specific stories, notable cases, and areas of deep expertise, material that then becomes the foundation for bylined articles and social content rather than generic legal blog posts. SEO work runs underneath that content layer to help it actually get found, and Speakeasy offers metro and practice-area exclusivity, meaning it won’t sign a second competing firm in the same market and specialty. The most distinctive piece of the offering — ghostwriting and publishing a book under the attorney’s name — comes up repeatedly in client reviews as something no other legal marketing agency in this space typically offers.
Speakeasy’s review record runs from 2021 through early 2026, and the shape of it is different from most other legal-exclusive agencies covered here — genuinely positive, but with more friction in the historical record than competitors like Postali or Precision Legal Marketing. On the positive side, recent reviews (2025 forward) are strong and specific: attorneys credit named staff — Amber Kakish, Dan Dubow, Michelle — with responsiveness and describe the book-writing and content program as genuinely differentiating, with one small-firm attorney noting a prospective client found them through ChatGPT specifically because of the authority content built around their book. Several reviewers explicitly frame Speakeasy as finally delivering results after years of disappointing SEO vendors.
The complaint pattern here is worth being direct about. A cluster of one-star reviews, concentrated in 2022–2024, describes unwanted telemarketing calls — cold outreach unrelated to any existing client relationship — with more than one reviewer specifically flagging the sales approach as spam-like and persistent. Separately, a smaller number of older reviews describe real service problems: one details content riddled with grammar and spelling errors followed by contract termination after the client complained, another describes a billing dispute and unresponsive customer service, and a few older reviews mention account manager turnover disrupting continuity. It’s a meaningfully rougher history than the near-uniform five-star records seen at some smaller legal-only competitors, though the more recent reviews suggest the client-facing experience has improved.
Authority marketing works on a premise that’s different from most legal marketing: instead of optimizing primarily for search volume and keyword competition, it bets that a prospective client choosing between attorneys will respond more to demonstrated, specific expertise — a published book, a bylined article about a case similar to their own, a video where the attorney explains a nuanced point of law in plain language — than to a generic “aggressive personal injury attorney” ad. That bet pays off best for attorneys who already have genuine depth to draw on and are willing to put in the interview time to surface it; it pays off less for attorneys who want a largely hands-off marketing relationship, since the content engine depends on the attorney’s ongoing participation in a way that a pure SEO/PPC retainer doesn’t.
It matters that the negative reviews here cluster earlier in the timeline (2022–2024) while the more recent reviews (2025–2026) read as substantially cleaner, with specific praise for current staff and no repeat of the grammar-quality or billing complaints seen in older reviews. That pattern is consistent with a company that went through a rough stretch — possibly tied to a period of aggressive sales outreach and thinner content quality control — and has since tightened up its process and account management. A firm evaluating Speakeasy today should ask directly about current quality-control steps for content before it goes out under the attorney’s name, and should ask how the agency’s outbound sales practices have changed since the telemarketing complaints, rather than assuming the recent positive trend fully closes the book on the earlier pattern.
Speakeasy is a strong fit for solo attorneys and boutique or mid-size firms that want to differentiate on expertise and reputation rather than compete purely on ad spend or keyword volume — particularly attorneys who have real stories and case history to draw on and are willing to participate in the interview process that feeds the content engine. It’s a weaker fit for firms that primarily want a numbers-driven SEO/PPC operation with minimal ongoing involvement, or for firms sensitive to sales outreach tactics, given the pattern of telemarketing complaints in the review history. Given the age spread in the complaints, it’s reasonable for a prospective client to ask directly about current account management stability and content quality control before signing. Firms weighing an authority-marketing approach should see our top 10 picks for law firm content strategy agencies, and small and boutique firms can check our ranking of the best marketing agencies for small law firms.
Reviews skew strongly positive, especially from 2025-2026, with attorneys repeatedly crediting named staff (Amber Kakish, Dan Dubow, Michelle) for responsiveness and for the firm's distinctive content and "authority" positioning, including ghostwritten books and thought-leadership content that several solo and small-firm attorneys say helped them compete with larger firms. A consistent negative thread, concentrated in 2022-2024, describes unwanted telemarketing/spam calls unrelated to existing clients, and a smaller number of older reviews cite poor communication, content quality issues (grammar/spelling errors), and billing disputes. Recent reviews show markedly fewer complaints than older ones.
The internet and on-line marketing are constantly changing. What was state of the art just a few years ago is basically obsolete now. You need an up to date, forward looking internet & media partner to compete and stay relevant. And in that regard Speakeasy Marketing is excellent! They are knowledgeable, thorough, and proactive. They built and maintained a very good website for me that was attractive and easy to navigate. Plus, they are very patient with me and all of my questions. And, most importantly, they are on top of the changing dynamics of search engines, social media, AI, and all of those things that as a trial lawyer I am too busy to understand. But with Speakeasy, I don't need to. They are on it. I highly recommend Speakeasy for any law firm wishing to build their business in the competitive on-line marketplace.
I have a small law firm I founded in 2001. I was an early adopter of the internet and internet marketing. I could see that the future of marketing for tiny businesses like mine who don't have huge marketing budgets was online marketing. Since 2005 I have been trying to figure out things like SEO, organic results and Google Ads. Between 2005 and approximately 2 years ago when I started working with Speakeasy, I had been through at least 6 SEO/Google Ads (used to be Adwords) marketing firms. I have paid them $100,000s over the years. Speakeasy is hands down the best online marketing firm I have worked with. The monthly fee might seem steep to some but not to those like me who have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars over the years to get very limited results. Speakeasy has a system that is dialed. They are very knowledgeable and responsive. They help me create appropriate content, including an e-book, and stay on top of my email marketing. They help me analyze results, where traffic is coming from, and how to optimize results. Most recently I learned from a prospective client they found my tiny firm through ChatGPT. Again best I've worked with thus far in the past 20 years.
Speakeasy has been great for my law firm. They provide great content, are quick to resolve issues that may come up, and their Speak A Book was really helpful in providing us with a tangible way to show we are experts in our fields. Michelle has been super helpful anytime we have reached out.
I've had the pleasure of working with Speakeasy for the past few months, and it has been a fantastic experience. They are incredibly responsive and take the time to tailor all marketing strategies to our unique needs. Their collaborative approach ensures that the work produced is of the highest quality. We're excited to continue our partnership with them and look forward to more successful projects together!
Speakeasy has been an exceptional partner in growing my legal practice. Among the various marketing companies I’ve worked with, they stand out for their unparalleled creativity, efficiency, and client-focused approach. My dedicated project manager is consistently attentive, offering invaluable guidance, and the entire team treats my small law firm as if it were their own. Their proactive and innovative strategies have made a measurable impact, and I couldn’t recommend them more highly to any law firm seeking top-tier marketing services.
I have had consistent, competent experiences with Speakeasy Marketing for the past two years in which I have engaged the business. I recommend them.
We love working WITH Michelle at Speakeasy. I mean that in all ways- Michelle and her team actually want to work WITH our team to improve presence, not just tell us what to do as other social media firms have done in the past. It lets you know they care about the results and getting you where you want to be and having things be realistically achievable as well as maintaining a very professional presence in the ever changing landscape of social media.
Great communication. I have seen their work and would highly recommend Speakeasy Authority Marketing to any Attorney looking for marketing services.
Puts a unique spin on all of your marketing needs from the website and social media to even writing a book. Very easy to work with and very knowledgeable.
Spekeasy has been great to work with. They are extremely professional and are great at communicating. I feel much better about the direction of my business.
I've been working with Speakeasy Authority Marketing for years. They are excellent, particularly since Amber Horos and her team took over my account. I would highly recommend them to any attorney looking to create a website, content and SEO!
The staff at Speakeasy is very attentive to our business needs. They are easy to work with to achieve our marketing goals, as well updating information. Hands down, highly recommend! Amber and Helen especially deserve a special thanks for making every interaction pleasurable!
Won't stop with the spam calls, extremely annoying. Keep trying to block them but they keep using a different number but the same Indian guy.
Terrible sales team. Callers don't even have American accent. If you want "jeff" or "gheff" to run off your business then they are the company for you.
I recently had the unfortunate experience of working with Speakeasy Authority Marketing., and I must say that it was an absolute disaster. From start to finish, their services left a lot to be desired, and I would strongly advise anyone considering working with them to think twice. First and foremost, their communication was abysmal. It seemed like every time I needed an update or had a question, I had to chase them down repeatedly to get a response. It felt as though I was being ignored or placed on the back burner. This lack of communication severely hindered progress and made it incredibly frustrating to work with them. Furthermore, the quality of their work was far from satisfactory. The marketing campaigns they created lacked creativity, originality, and any real strategic thinking. It was as if they were recycling outdated ideas without considering my unique business needs. Their lackluster efforts failed to generate any meaningful results, and I felt like my investment was completely wasted. In addition to their poor communication and subpar work, their customer service was horrendous. Whenever I raised concerns or expressed dissatisfaction, they were dismissive and unresponsive. They showed no interest in rectifying the issues or addressing my needs. It was a clear indication that they cared more about their bottom line than providing quality service to their clients. To make matters worse, the billing process was an absolute nightmare. They consistently overcharged me, and when I brought this to their attention, they were slow to respond and even slower to issue refunds. It was a frustrating and time-consuming ordeal that added insult to injury.
Telemarketing call received, offering to transfer to “manager” routed to voice mail. Most annoying.
Update: After an additional six months I am very happy with the responsiveness and willingness to work with me on my specific goals. Eli was very helpful in talking with me about how to keep up increasing my social media presence and lead generation. I'm very happy with the services and the plan for my firm. Dan has been great and very responsive to all of my questions and requests.
Wonderful to engage with trusted experts, and Speakeasy is definitely both, and has a breathtaking full-service program at a reasonable price. Speakeasy Authority Marketing offers unparallel opportunity to propel law firm revenue and client count. Free marketing material to check out. I feel what they offer is indispensable.
Awful experience. Staff and content writers produced a product replete with grammar, spelling and punctuation errors. When we complained they terminated our contract after we had already paid them thousands of dollars. Bad, bad people.
I appreciate the services provided by Speakeasy and their team. They are very committed to helping their clients.
Speakeasy Marketing has always been responsive to my requests and inquiries. I appreciate their taking the time that I do not have, to improve my online presence. It is ascertainable.
Speakeasy Marketing has empowered me as a small solo practitioner to achieve a level of standing on the web that is usually limited to larger firms. It is important having them as part of my team among so many other marketing opportunities.
Amber Kakish has done a wonderful job managing our account. She is always available and everything is done promptly and to the highest standard.
I started with Speakeasy at the beginning of this year, and things have gone well so far. Their follow up is great (important to me - I'm so busy I'd never follow up if left to my own devices), and the work they've done to help me build my content and get it out to my audience has paid off by bringing more clients to my door. I'm quite happy with the work Dan and his team have done for me so far, and I hope they continue to impress going forward.
Finding a great customer care experience is far to rare - but I certainly found one with Speakeasy Marketing Inc. Their product is fantastic; their customer service responsive; their communication clear; and their flexibility remarkable. Over a course of years they have worked with me to change and grow my site, shrink it when I am overwhelmed with business, and have given me the metrics necessary to make decisions as to growth. Speakeasy is a dynamic and customer service oriented business which I highly recommend. My practice would unlikely be where it is without their fine work.
Speakeasy Marketing has done an excellent job for our law firm. Working with Dan Dubow and his team has been a pleasure. The process is very streamlined and work is completed in a timely manner. We look forward to our continued partnership well into the future. Thanks!
I have worked with Speakeasy to bring my caseload up dramatically. My personal injury practice was suffering greatly during and after Covid. I’m almost back to my pre-pandemic numbers. Dan Dubow was very helpful and the work they did for me showed they really cared.
I did not have a good experience with speakeasy marketing as far as content creation and sticking to schedule goes. However, my account manager, James, did a great job and everything in his power to make the backend problems right.
I signed an annual contract with these folks and later learned that my circumstances had changed. I requested cancellation after just a month or two, which they agreed to without delay or penalty. Very professional outfit and an attractive product.
I retained the services of Speakeasy Marketing last month because I was impressed with their experience and good communications with me. I also liked that they specialized in law firm marketing. After just a few short weeks, I already have a revamped website, increased and improved content, new social media, and SEO going on behind the scenes. My account rep is Dan and he is in constant communication with me and works with me according to my style. Very personal attention. Most importantly, I have noticed a significant increase in client leads coming from our website. So far, very happy.
Very helpful and attentive to my needs with a growing practice. I am pleased with the guidance I have received and the gentle "nudging" for me to stay on track with the plan.
Dan from Speakeasy has been great to work with, quick responses, guides me through what needs to be done and when. Highly recommended.
I've been working with Speakeasy Marketing for over a year, their service has been professional and responsive to my law firms needs. Definitely recommend!
I have worked with Michelle and Speakeasy Marketing for over 2 years and received timely and candid responses with innovative ideas for my law practice. Highly recommend.
Speakeasy Marketing is a fabulous platform for getting your business seen on the internet. They organize your information and disseminate it over the internet to get you noticed!
Very attentive to my legal needs.
Speakeasy has been very responsive and has completed everything thus far that was originally agreed to, and in a timely fashion. I have worked with Amber and Helen in particular who have always been very responsive and have always addressed all of my concerns. I would definitely recommend Speakeasy, Amber and and Helen to any of my colleagues.
I absolutely LOVED working with Speakeasy marketing Inc. Last year I had a need to get my message out and to write a book! I found the PERFECT partnership in Speakeasy Marketing. Everyone was very helpful, things were very clear from the beginning and my book was published in record time. I have recommended them to all my lawyer friends who need to write a book in the most efficient way!
Speakeasy is a great marketing company and I highly recommend them for any attorney who is looking for help in that area. They are experts in their field and a must for any attorney looking for expand their practice. Hire them and you will not be disappointed.
Amber and the staff at Speakeasy Marketing, get very high marks from me and my law firm. The are dedicated, responsive and very effective when it comes to improving online presence and improving my business! Amber is always available when called, and she excels when it comes to digital knowledge.
I've had LOTS of internet marketers for my law firm over the last 20 yrs. Speakeasy has been the best by far : - )
I've been using Speakeasy for several years for legal marketing. Over the years I have been pitched and promised everything under the sun by other online marketers. I had to learn my lesson the hard way wasting thousands of dollars on these bad companies. I never had an organic results online marketer produce a return on investment until Speakeasy. I highly recommend Speakeasy for legal marketing.
I own a Phoenix-based law firm and working with Speakeasy in terms of marketing, mentoring, and facilitating the publication of a book was as seamless and as easy and enjoyable as one could hope. Specifically, Tracy Merda was phenomenal. Super satisfied with the product and the people.
Excellent Service. Great Proffessionalism.
Dream makers. It has been a dream to write a book. I never thought it would be as a lawyer. Speakeasy was great to work with. There are no hidden prices and there is a system. You eventually carve out the vision. I would tell anyone looking to advance their reputation to use Speakeasy.
Spend Much Less, Get Much More... On Time As a well-established firm in the highly competitive estate planning and administration community we have explored everything from in-house to maximum spend in order to maximize the value of our expenditures on web and social both with respect to client support as well as marketing. Simply stated, Speakeasy has not only exceeded our expectations but given us what we want, when we want it, the way we want as well as innovated and expanded our reach. Speakeasy has done this through excellent communications both with our staff and our senior attorneys and with an internal Quality Assurance process that exceeds all other companies in our 20 year web experience. By way of illustration; after a variable spend of $4k to $18k per month with a top tier legal web presence provider we experienced a) a decline in traffic, b) traffic ill-suited to our business model, c) poor social media targeting, and d) in excess of 400 documented errors in our (rather robust) website. We hired a consultancy to find us a better solution after 2 years of unsuccessfully attempting to get resolutions. They found Speakeasy, we negotiated a price that was a small fraction of our total spend with the top-tier provider and engaged. In less time that it took the former company to successfully arrange the second draft review conference our Speakeasy website and social linkage was up and operational. With Speakeasy we have experienced a) a 14% increase in traffic, b) 90% of traffic is tuned to our model prospect, c) we have fully integrated social media presence (differentiated for EP and EA), and d) Zero website errors. The hand-off from our sales associate to Amber Kakish and her team was fast and seamless. Amber’s communications are prompt, well documented, and solution oriented (not ‘explain away’). During COVID like everyone else we had to adapt and Speakeasy has served us well. For example, it took 2 days for Amber’s team to augment our web presence and pages to actualize our Webminar model; and it was correct the first time. We look forward to a long and growing association with Speakeasy and could not ask for a more responsive, professional and diligent services partner than Amber Kakish’s team from Speakeasy. They have outperformed our every expectation.
Speakeasy is a firm specializing in advertising for attorneys and the firm knows the business and how to promote and advertise on behalf of attorneys to bring in potential clients. There staff is responsive to issues that arise and they definitely know how to establish a web site that is informative, alerts clients as to your business and advises on the exact type of law the client practices. Definitely a "thumbs up."
I like having a newsletter and help with writing books! Great customer service! All contacts have been professional and they are very responsive! I think what you receive is of great value for your business. Michelle and Tracy are very good at their jobs!
